Liz is passionate about helping families plan for the future and protect what is most important to them. This includes implementing estate plans, as well as assisting clients to address more complex planning situations such as planning for loved ones with special needs, estate tax planning, income tax planning, asset protection, and charitable planning. Always willing and able to explain complicated legal concepts clearly and concisely, Liz is skilled at working with her clients to ensure their plan will work now and in the future.
Liz is the Leader of the Texas Forum, a study group of Texas estate planning lawyers that meets bi-annually to discuss advanced estate planning strategies and to discuss recent changes in the law. Additionally, Liz is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar College, the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Texas State Bar, the Travis County Women’s Lawyer Association, the Mother Attorney Mentoring Association of Austin, and volunteers with the Veterans Legal Assistance Program of the Austin Bar Association.
Prior to joining Nickerson Law Group in 2013, Liz served as in-house counsel for a large national non-profit organization headquartered in Austin. Liz graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where she received the Dean's Achievement Award for the highest grade in Professor Stanley Johanson’s Wills and Estates class. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology and Religion, with a concentration in Human Rights, magna cum laude, from Barnard College of Columbia University.
Liz enjoys running, travelling, and spending time with her husband and their two daughters.
